Congratulations on your new porcelain veneers from Contemporary Cosmetic Dentistry! To ensure their longevity, proper dental health, and the continued brilliance of your smile, it’s essential to follow these care recommendations provided by the renowned Aurum Ceramic Dental Laboratories, the lab we trust for crafting your beautiful restorations.
Toothbrush Selection
We recommend using a Sonicare or OralB Braun electric toothbrush for optimal cleaning efficiency. If you prefer a manual toothbrush, select one with soft bristles to avoid damaging your veneers.

Flossing
Choose waxed, unwaxed, woven, or dentotape floss for effective plaque removal. Notify our dental team if you experience floss catching, as it may indicate excess bonding material requiring removal. Plastic flosses like Glide or Easy Slide do not remove sufficient plaque from restorations.
Toothpaste
Opt for a regular, non-abrasive toothpaste, such as CloSYS, Oxyfresh, Crest, or Colgate Gel, to maintain the integrity of your veneers. Avoid tartar control or whitening pastes, as they may dull the glaze on your restorations.
Mouth Wash
Select an alcohol-free or low-alcohol mouth rinse, such as CloSYS or Oxyfresh, to protect the glaze of your veneers. Over-the-counter alternatives are also suitable, provided they are alcohol-free. Alcohol-containing rinses can gradually dull the appearance of your veneers, so it’s best to opt for alcohol-free options for long-term maintenance.

Interdental Cleaners
Proxy brushes are suitable for cleaning between your teeth and around your veneers. Replace worn-out brushes promptly to prevent scratching your restorations.
Fluoride
Use only neutral fluoride products on your porcelain restorations. At-home fluoride treatments like Prevident are acceptable, while acidulated fluoride (APF) and stannous fluoride should be avoided as they can damage or stain your veneers.
Oral Irrigators
Water flossers like Water Pik or Hydro Floss can complement your oral hygiene routine, but be gentle around your veneers to avoid dislodging them.
Recare Appointments/Hygiene Visits
Regular hygiene visits are essential for maintaining the health and appearance of your veneers. During these visits, our dental team will use fine polishing pastes like Proxyt by Ivoclar or Clinpro Prophy Paste by 3M espe to remove stains and keep your smile looking its best.

Following these care recommendations and attending regular dental appointments will help ensure your porcelain veneers remain beautiful and functional for years to come. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us. Your smile is our priority!
